the rules.
If you do not abide by the rules given, there will be consequences, one being banned from the site, IP and all. ( It looks like a lot of rules, I know, but it really isn't. )
registration.
• When setting up your display name for your new character set it up 'first middle last' nothing fancy, all lower case, no fancy symbols, just that.
• When registering with your application, be sure to put you name ( In the topic title. ) in the proper format; 'last, first middle .'. Again, nothing fancy.
• This site is on a first come first serve basis, and if someone claims the playby before you, even if you created your application before them, the playby is their's. So don't sit around and wait, claim right after your application is created.
• No posting until your application is done, unless you are posting in the claims, or you are posting in ooc.
• You are allowed one character, per account. So if you want to make a new character, make a new account.
• You will know when you are accepted when your name has changed color, and you have been added to the yearbook, that is when you can begin roleplaying, and posting.
general roleplay.
• The first, and probably most important rule is keeping this site to a PG-13 maximum. Which basically means, you can't have content on this site ( Or any Proboards, for that matter. ) that will break Proboards TOS. Keeping this site at a PG-13 rating is critical, or this site will most likely get shut down. If I find any inappropriate posting going on the member will be deleted, with no warning, if it continues, the member will be IP banned. I have no tolerance for this kind of thing. ( This rule applies to the whole site, not just roleplaying. THIS MEANS GUESTS MUST ALSO ABIDE BY THIS RULE. )
• The word count. DUN DUN DUN. The awesome thing about this site is that we don't actually have a secure word count, so two decent sized paragraphs will be fine. And for those who like to keep track, remember there's a link to a word counter in the sidebar.
• Something that I hate seeing, and by posting this rule I hope I am preventing, is godmoding. It's really unfortunate for people who get godmoded. If anyone finds they are getting godmoded by someone, PM a staff member, and let us check it out.
• Although were are roleplaying in a made up town, etc, try to keep things realistic. If someone is having a fight, you can't dodge every punch, that's unrealistic, unfair, and annoying for the opponent.
• Posting in third person is a must, no first person. It gets confusing for others and you aren't your character, so there is no need to write 'I' rather then the character's name.
the chatbox.
• Any spamming of the cbox will result in a ban. Spamming is annoying, and unnecessary.
• The cbox is here for those who want to chat and have pleasant conversations, please don't start arguing over the cbox, we are friendly people, not Shrek the ogre.
• There is to be no advertising in the cbox, there's a board for that. If you are linking someone in your name, then fine, but no advertising.
• If a guest wants to talk to you, then talk to them, but don't start typing at them if they didn't speak first, you can scare potential members away by doing that.
• Please guests, remember, all of these rules apply to you, and you should abide by them.
graphics.
• As long as your picture does not stretch the board, it's okay with me. But please remember, no innapropriate content, this means signatures, too.
• There should be no copywrited material on this site. No question asked.
• If you are unable to make your own graphics, CAUTION OF THE WIND has an excellent selection, and requests are always welcomed. Remember we also have our own graphics section!
